Volunteer
We need many helpers to support the riding.
A disabled rider may need three people with them in the arena, one to lead the pony and two ‘side walkers’ to help with posture, balance and understanding.
Training is given to all our volunteers regardless of whether they have ‘horse knowledge’ or not. A ‘green card’, tracking progress and skills, needs to be completed as you work and a DBS check undertaken.
Many volunteers go on to qualify as Coaches, regularly able to teach a couple of lessons a week during term time.
